The Porcelain Veneer Procedure

At Dental Group of Morristown, we understand that getting porcelain composite veneers is a big decision, and our highly-skilled dentists will work with you every step to ensure you are happy with your new smile. The dental veneer procedure typically takes place over two appointments.

During your first appointment, we will start with natural tooth preparation. This involves removing a small amount of healthy tooth enamel from the front of your teeth so the veneers can be bonded. Once your teeth have been prepared, we will take impressions so the veneers can be custom-made to fit your smile.

The impressions of your teeth are sent to a dental lab. It typically takes about two weeks for your permanent veneers to be ready. In the meantime, temporary veneers will be placed for you to wear.

Once your veneers are ready and back in the office, you will come in for your second appointment. During this appointment, we will remove your temporary veneers and bond the new porcelain veneers in place. Your dentist will make necessary adjustments at this time to ensure a comfortable fit and natural look.

You will need to follow any after-care instructions and continue with teeth brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits to ensure optimal oral health.
